Castilla can refer to both an Agave applanata and what is most likely an undescribed form of Agave angustifolia. This batch is from the angustifolia. These plants can grow to over 3 meters tall and can take up to 19 years to mature. While it was once most likely cultivated for use in mezcal and ixtle (agave fiber) it is now most often found in sparse patches growing in the wild / or semi-cultivated.
